One of THOSE Days

Me and Grandma at her 80th Birthday

Have you ever had one of THOSE days that you just didn't want to end?  Where you feel so happy and content and just want time to stand still for awhile?  I have had days like this before. I remember when we celebrated my Grandma's 80th birthday a few years ago. It was in the summer and we were in my parents' backyard surrounded by family and friends.  I remember at one point just standing still and looking around and feeling complete joy. I thought to myself, "This must be what heaven feels like."  I was with people that I loved and everyone was so happy and we were celebrating the life of one of God's most elect ladies. My Grandma was an amazing woman.

Just the other night I had another one of THOSE days. It was my friend Jamie's birthday and we had a big surprise party for her.  A bunch of our friends came and it was so great to visit with everyone.  But that's not the best part.  After most people left there were seven of us girls that were still there.  These girls are some of my dearest friends in the world.  Everyone was just laying around chatting and we were putting Jamie on the spot and making her answer silly questions since it was her birthday.  Then Jamie and Laura each pulled out a guitar and we spent the next hour singing at the top of our lungs as they accompanied us on guitar. I remember looking around at one point and my heart was so full of love for my friends and in that moment I thought, "Life is good. I'm so blessed."

It was another one of THOSE days that gave me a glimpse of what heaven will feel like when I get to be surrounded by people I love so much.  I look forward to having more of THOSE days in my life!
