#22: Have My Portrait Painted

A couple of years ago I sat down and wrote a bucket list of 100 things I want to do before I die.  As I was looking for different ideas and reading about what other people had done, many had written that they wanted to get their portrait painted.  I thought about this a lot and thought about how cool it would be to have someone paint my portrait.  They used to always to it back in the days before cameras and it's something I decided that I really wanted.  So I included this as one of the 30 things I wanted to do before turning 30.  I had no idea how I was going to get it and who would paint it for me, but I knew it would happen. The way it happened has been incredible!  Though my blog I became connected with an amazing woman in India.  Her name is Niveditha. She is truly a kindred spirit and I am so grateful that we connected.  She sent my blog link to her friend Shirish who is an artist and does the most beautiful artwork using ball point pens. He happily agreed to do my portrait and together him and Nive decided which picture to use to draw me.  They found one on facebook and the one they chose was actually taken in one my favorite places in the world.  It's in American Fork Canyon, driving the Alpine Loop during the Autumn. I try to do that drive every years during the fall because the colors are just brilliant and beautiful. I mist say that one of my favorite things about this journey is the people that have crossed my path and the loved ones I've had cheering me along the way. I will always cherish this portrait and every time I look at it I will think about my wonderful friends in India. I am looking forward to meeting them one day.
